I decided not to design the project about voyeurism
여성의 관음증에 대해 찾아보고 고민하던 중, 나는 주제를 바꾸기로 마음먹었다. 왜냐하면 여성의 관음증이 남성의 관음증과 대치되기 어렵다고 생각했기 때문이다.
After I searched and studied the voyeurism of women, I decided to change the theme. Because I don't think voyeurism of women is similar to that of men in case of affection.
처음에 내가 하고 싶던 것은 내가 느꼈던 공포를 시각화하는 것이었다. 타인의 공포감, 숨막힘을 보면서 불편한 감정을 사람들이 느끼길 바랐다. 교수님께서 내게 여성의 관음증으로 바꾸라고 조언하신 것은 내가 생각해보지 못했던 것이었다. 내가 일차적으로 생각했다는 것을 깨달았고 관점을 바꾸어 생각해볼 필요가 있다고 느꼈다. 그래서 친구들에게 남자의 어떤 부분을 알고 싶냐고 물어보았다. 친구들은 내게 대부분 키, 학벌, 안좋은 웹사이트를 하는지 여부를 말했다. 드물게 한 명이 그것의 크기...라고 말했지만 매우 드문 케이스였다. 이것이 과연 남성의 관음증과 대치될만한 내용인가? 나는 그렇지 않다고 생각했다. 여러 생물학책에서는 진화할 때 여성의 남성의 사회적 지위를 더 중요시하는 것으로 진화해왔다고 했다. 최근들어서 남성의 외모적인 부분도 중요한 기준이 되고 있지만 전통적으로는 남성의 사회적 지위를 중요시한다고 한다. 이는 데이비드 교수님께서 하신 말씀과 유사했다. 하지만 나는 과연 이것이 남성의 관음증과 대치될만한 것인지 의문이 들었다.
At the first, I wanted to visualize the fear that I felt. I hope the audience feel uncomfortable and awkward feeling by facing the fear of others. However, professor David advised me to change it to the voyeurism of women and it was what I have never thought before. I acknowledged that I thought only in one dimension and need to change my point of view. Hence, I asked my female friends what they want to know about men. Most of them chose height, level of education, whether the man use bad websites. (One of them told me she wanted to know the size of that, but it was a rare case.) So is this match with voyeurism of men? It can be. However, the affection of women's is much smaller. In many biological books explain that women have evolved in the way to focus on the social status of men. It explains that the visual of men becomes more and more important but still it is less important than the social status of men. It was similar to what professor David told to me. However, I doubted whether it is really matched with voyeurism of men.
일부 남성의 관음증으로 인해 최근 화장실 몰카, 리벤지 포르노, 홈씨씨티비 해킹 등이 사회적 문제가 되었다. 인터넷이 발달한 요즘 세상에 한번 카메라로 찍히고 공유되면 동영상이 퍼지는 속도는 매우 빠르고 그 범위는 넓다. 따라서 피해자는 주홍글씨가 찍히고 평생 고통을 받게 된다. 과연 여성의 관음증 또한 남성을 주홍글씨를 찍히게 하며 평생 고통을 받게 하는가? 남성의 키, 학벌, 안좋은 웹사이트를 하는지 여부가 들통날 경우 그것이 인터넷 웹사이트에 퍼지고 평생 주홍글씨로 따라다닐까? 나는 아니라는 생각이 들었다. 그것이 내가 이 주제 대신 다른 주제를 하기로 마음먹은 이유다.
Some of the men made trouble with their voyeurism.
